Well the 3 practice flights I did yesterday mostly went OK. My whole goal for the weekend is to walk away with a plane that's flyable.

I did lose a set of batteries though. I'm not sure what happened per se because all 5 cell voltages of the one pack are OK but I haven't hooked it up to my ESR meter yet. For now they are in an ammo can in the garage and I'm going to see if I can do the whole contest with my Zippys.

I also forgot to mention in the previous post that I bought a very slightly used Jeti SPIN 99 ESC for the Cadence. It was a good deal and I don't have much more to acquire for the plane.

Now about the contest today. I was third in line of 4 Intermediate pilots and I had a really good flight especially given the lack of practice this year. Unfortunately my landing gear had its last landing. I'm not sure how things shook out after the first round but not have a replacement part means I'm done. As far as I can tell the only thing I need is a new set of landing gear. Things could have been a lot worse and I'm going to be happy with the fact that I went for it, had a good flight, and I still have a flyable plane. Coincidentally, I guess I also held up to the goal of only flying the Zippy set of packs...

Well someone else flying in the Intermediate class had an ESC issue that he couldn't figure out and had to bow out after flying 1 round so I ended up getting third.

So I have to give thanks to the customer service at F3AUnlimited.com. I was unsure about the specs on the replacement landing gear and Mike got back to me promptly. I also got some Secraft axles to go with the gear. The DeJaVu came with Secraft but I was trying to do something different with the wheel pants and I wasn't sure they would work. Guess I will give them another go.

The advertised weight of the new gear is 48g and the old gear weighed in at 64g so there might be some weight savings.
