True that! The pipes were ordered before we started the plane, and the plane was done the day the pipes finally showed up.

    Monkey pulled the maiden! VIDEO:

Did monkey's arm finally come back to the same length as the other after trying to hold the plane?
I am going to turn you in to the SPCM (Society of Prevention od Cruilty to Monkey) if he is hurt, that sweet drunkin monkey.

Great Video, my wife and I were both in stitches! Darn, even an alcoholic Monkey flies better than me. That Monkey was doing well for most of the day. He must of had a relapse late in the day though. The last few seconds looked bad for him. I hope the vet got him patched up after that flight, and he is OK. He is a great guy, for a Monkey....

Joe, those 1 1/2 snaps and that double on the down line were MONEY!!! Thanks for getting those in the vid. You know that's what I wanted to see.

When can I come get that plane out of your way? I know you've got too many projects and not enough room. Let me know if I can help you out at all.

    Joey,

Finally got to see the video and have to agree with Dean - while the low stuff is always cool (and your trademark), can't deny that I'm equally impressed with the tight, exact snaps and rolls. I guess ever since you taught me to do 1 1/2's you had to dial yours in!!!! Thanks!

Yeppers... this one is at the recommended CG and presents nicely for precision. Built stock, just like Jason Noll's plane, which served him well in his 2nd place finish at the TAS this year.

Its older brother is much more tailheavy, having its Fromeco 5200s in the turtle deck versus next to the front of the gas tank in this newer plane.

No worries... Monkey is back in action; here he is tonight with his new chick:

    171.jpg
His ex saw him and started crying, Monkey tried to smooth things over, but his new chick kept laughing. It's not easy to be Monkey.

But it do' have its perks:

how is the throttle response on the tuned pipes compared to cans or in cowls? how do you think they would run on a 3W-150 there Joe?

Joe: Makes the DA-150 feel like an electric motor running on a first class speed controller. If it will do that for the DA-150 I don't even know how good it could be with a 3W-150 or EVO-150, et al. Greves pipes definitely improve power and transition dramatically... Monkey like. lol
