Was out in the shop today cleaning pistons & ring grooves... oh joy!
I took a little break and took a couple short videos of the
ryobi generator with the celphone again......
For what it's worth, once again... enjoy....

Oh man.... late night misery... woke up to a
Sneezing Snot Attack accompanied by eye watering!!!
Wow... this thing is really kickin' my tail....
first cold I've had in several years... I actually
forgot what this felt like....... guess everyone has
to have thier turn sooner or later, right? Lucky me! :ack:
Been a long morning! Still waiting for the
antihistamines to do their job, but no luck so far....
Thank goodness for coffee!!!
LOL---while sneezin' snortin' sniffle'n, I made a mobile
homepage on my web server just for my celphone to fire up on...
hmmm... I think I'm an internet junkie!
Need one of these!

I give up what is it?
Morning, it a milling machine!
Yes... awesome 5 axis milling machine! Wow! I need the machine!
As for the project.... it is a 40% scale wooden plug of Skip Stewarts
new "P3 Revolution" biplane that he's working on .....
As far as the 40% scale plug milling video posted earlier:
Good News! The Snot Faucet shut off about 10am this morning,
and the meds started working today finally.......
and I was able to get out to the shop....
I see clean parts!
Ohhhhhhh------ ain't dem purty...
And, yes, very happy for me! --- slept through the whole night, except for a couple disturbances from the usual trains....... but......... no waking up to a snot fauceted nose and sneezing atack!.......
Did you clean those pistons in that tub, or croc pot em in anti freeze ?
Super clean results .
It's Diesel fuel in the tub..... pistons sat in there over a couple days
while I was suffering my cold, and then a nice light duty scouring pad cleaned'em right up.... almost no effort yesterday.
I get to Diesel-douche the engine block out today... LOL
rinse all traces of the fine metalic material out of the oil gallies
that the initial block cleaning might have left behind.....
and it's not much, at that...
Tomorrow, I'm hoping to clean the cosmoline/grease coating off
the new crank and start assembling the lower end... woohoooo!!!!
Here's some news on my job situation............. Some might care, some might not.....
Of course, the news will butter it all up, and make it sound like it is all peaches and cream. That isn't the case at all here.
Most of our support jobs will go the FL. There is 1 customer service/Field tech guy that will relocate, the other 4 in our building will not. As far as my position in testing, I'm actually considered "production". So, I may be offered a position in FL, or I may not. Either way I would be eligible to go back to my previous job in Maint. (the very same position that I left for my current position). I highly doubt that they will offer any of our assemblers a position in FL. I heard rumored that out of the 50 or so TEMPORARY filled positions within the Hobart name in the Troy/Piqua, OH area can be filled, by those of us in GP. End result would be, possible pay cuts to those folks who take those positions filled by temporary employees. Me, personally, will not unemployed.
The mood around the shop is very morgue like............. Everyone has a case of the ass. I can't say that I blame them. I too, have a case of the red ass. If they knew that they were going to be relocating this business, why in the hell would they allowed me to go thru with the transfer request??? Just keep pounding the nails in the coffin, I guess..........
Bunky that sux...more jobs leaving Ohio..
Ahhh---- G'Mornin & Happy Saturday!
Man... It sucks to be hearing that... was hoping things
would turn around since the last update..
Yup................. But I will still be employed by Hobart, nonetheless. So, that is the upside of things, for me.
Here's some cleaning pics from Yesterday..
What the Oil plug should look like...
Block is clean, and ready for crankshaft to be installed....
Oooohhh.... stock roller lifters (still need to be cleaned up a little)
Oil pan is a complete mess.... looks like this after initial garden hose blast...
looking good Ken!! any predictions on a completion date?
Anybody get to do some flying this weekend? It was extremely windy here
