Well folks, after quite a dry spell I finally have a new ship to build! I was down visiting the lads at Gyro Hobbies Sunday and the Mini Carden Yak was screaming at me. Many folks on other websites have been ripping the initial build quality of this plane apart so I popped the box open to have a look... Well it looked pretty flawless, so I plunked down the dough and took her home. Gonna build next week and hopefully see ya'll at the field in a few weeks. Hell, maybe I can even get a guest invite to OCMA one day!!

For sure looking forward to Rabbit bash 08' and perhaps the Las Vagas Huckfest! We'll see.

Hopefully it lives up to the Carden name as I have high expectations.

    See ya'll

    BK

Snap, man that sucks! Mine is as close to perfect that I have seen on any arf I have bought to date. I really cant speculate on the reasoning behind the descrepancies in build quality, but perhaps yours was in a different container when shipped and that container might have sat in say the bahamas for a month in 105 deg temps @ 95% humidity.

Bummer none the less, I hope it gets taken care of!

ps. Posterboard, I love your avatar!

Exactly what I thought looking at snap's pictures. I guess the local hobby shop is the way to go with wood ARF's. See what you got before you put down the cash.

Chief is taking it back. Thats pretty typical of my luck with planes. I wish TVM was still open it was nice to walk in pick up some props see the plane in the box and walk out with a nice ARF.

Would anyone else agree that the stock mounting blocks give this plane "WAY" too much right thrust? I know this thread looks dead but I figure there's probably quite a few of these in the air by this time.

I used my stock mounting blocks and the right thrust is just about perfect.

In fact I'm flying mine this weekend (finally! had to transplant the LG from my QQ for a bit till the graph tech LG comes!! Huh Showtime!?)

Other than that little mishap she's a real nice flying plane. Especially with the modified DA-50RR!!!!!

Oh yeah, gonna also try a new Vess 23A prop tomorrow! Should pull like a donkey!

    Cant wait!

Just got done flying my H9 Carden Yak54...

Vess prop is the Shizzy!!!!!! Wow!

Was a little windy, but got some good flights in none the less.

Had a weird fludder in the LH elevator though, it was during a harrier with lots of power comming on-pulling out. I must investigate.

Trex 700N tomorrow! Maybe Yak too, I havent decided yet!
