lol You know I am teasing, that is marvelous work!
The interior looks incredible Tom.
I am surprised the pilot did bring his own goggles. I mean, WTF. I think you are going to have to make them somehow. I wonder if any GI Joe dolls would come with something similar.
We had our manual Chili Fly yesterday. Only 10 people showed up. To bad for the rest of the Club cause the Chili was great. This usually signals the end of the flying season around here. We've had an excellent fall for flying. Make's up for the crappy spring we had. Its 75F today but in 3 days the high will be 50F. We keep our eyes on the forecast and try to be ready to take something to the field. Now we designate March 15 for the beginning of the 2018 flying season. Anything in between there is a bonus.
Back to building season. Hope to make better progress from here on on the Albi.
The Cockpit is finished. Made up the tail skid and mounted it. Now I'm trying to finish the Axle. Looks like I will have to rework the soldered lower part of the main gear. I saw a better way of doing it then what I have.
got to make my OCD happy.
I am digging that skid and it’s finish.
Any word on the goggles?
No. BUSA don't have any. I'll find one before next spring.
I know I need to keep up here a little better but most of you follow me on F/B so you already are up to date.
Here it is for the rest of you. I made clearance for the muffler, mad two hatch doors for the ruder access, glassed the fuselage and finished fabricating the front landing gear. Things are starting to shape up when Baby has shoes.
Some more pictures of the landing gear. It don't look so big next to Cookie II.
The pictures sure look better here than on FB where they dumb down the resolution.
I agree with the Dougster.
This plane looks fantastic Tom.
Thanks for keeping The Circus updated as well.
I like the pictures here also. I’ll keep things going here forever.
I decided to keep the F/B. crowd in suspense. I primed the fuse with one coat of primer I took the whole can. I can't find my chart tape so I may not put panel lines on there. I'll look a little harder tomorrow. Have the struts and the LG fiber glassed. Still need a couple of coats of Polly on them. I actually have the left upper wing panel and half the right panel covered. Just don't have any pictures yet.
Slow down Tom. Winter is just getting started.
Finishing takes a long time.
A ten meter roll of Solartex is not enough to cover the wings on this plane. Have to order more covering.
Love that stuff, tough as nails. That is what I covered my Giant Stick with.
Said Doug to his defense attorney in a sexual harassment law suit.
This is it. Not much time to work on it today. Had enough covering for the bottom of the last wing outer. The scraps are enough for the Ruder and the Elevator. Ordered another 5 meter roll.
They only have SHLS in the US. Hes good to go in Canada.
Hee hee hee.
