Need to get some 4-40 countersunk screws and counter sink the gear doors so the screws sit flush. Maybe I
can use a piece of fuel tubing between the standoff and the gear door for a shock mount? hmmm?Posted in thread: My new 144" build thread on 05/08/2012 at 9:42PM
Update... Here are the gear doors mounted for the first time. I turned all the little stand-offs down to
.200 diameter to match the gear door clamps. I also left them all a bit too long for adjustment...Posted in thread: My new 144" build thread on 05/03/2012 at 8:48PM
Here's my idea to attach the gear doors.... I sheened this little 1/4" diameter coupler and threaded it

Gear doors are final trimmed, drilled and the inner plywood liner installed using polyurethane glue. It's

Bear with me as I work this all out... I counter-sunk the screws that hold the brass bracket so the doors
lay flush. I had to grind off a little of the strut as well.Posted in thread: My new 144" build thread on 05/01/2012 at 1:17PM
Here is the fiddly little bracket I had to make to support the bottom of the lower gear door. Grrrr!Posted in thread: My new 144" build thread on 04/30/2012 at 9:04PM
So... I got all the gear door parts made now and I'm starting to trim everything up. Pretty happy with
how nice and flat they lay down. I'm thinking I should get the gear leg doors mounted before fina...
