I saw that TOM approved Bel-Ray at a 40:1 ratio. So that's what I use. He'll find this in a minute and educate you, I'm sure.

amsoil 200:1 keeps the muffler bearing warm.

i was running bel-ray at 50:1 and tried it at 40:1 but i keep getting carbon balling on my plugs. switching to stihl ultra xp and see how that works. heard alot of good things about it.

I was running the Bel-ray also and Tony from DA called and said"change the oil your using" so I'm going to the Stihl Ultra. I just sent the 170 to get looked at and I guess it had a lot of build up in it. So I will change my oil again.

stihl hp ultra. so far i have had great success with it. clean engine and rings look great. T.O.M recommended the stuff and i thank him for the suggestion. redline also seems to be highly recommended also. love oil threads. but also love the actual data that gets posted to.
