They hold up just fine. The steel is AR500, a highly abrasion resistant material with a 100,000 psi tensile strength. We fired ball steel from the M1 Garand, and it barely dents the surface. See a closeup below.

Re: The Gun Thread
Cool! Might there be any possibility of obtaining one or two of those outside of the usual customers and/or methods? I shoot a lot of 7.62x54 light ball steel core, 147-150 gr., and one of those would be nice to ring against.

Let me check on that. Maybe doable. Right now they are being made to order, selling to the Turners chain of sporting goods stores in California. Might have to wait for another order to run, and not sure about pricing yet. We just started shipping a few weeks ago. We have a couple hundred tons of this 3/8" thick AR500 plate, and this was a way to use it rather than scrap it. It may grow into a real nice part of our business, we'll see. Diversification, good path.

Re: The Gun Thread
I routinely put 150-200 rounds through each rifle and pistol I take out on a shooting day. Since I generally take out at least two weapons that's 300-400 rounds/day of shooting. More if I take additional weapons.

Re: The Gun Thread
We have some of our factory people coming in from China this Friday. These people have never even seen a gun up close. We're taking then to the shooting range and bring'in all the toys. AK47, M1Garand, several full dress 7.62x51 assault rifles and a sh!tload of handguns from 22LR to 50cal.
Should be a hoot. Last time we did this with some Chinese business people, they went bananas, and they never forget the favor. It's a really big deal for them I guess. Having photos of themselves posing with weapons is a pretty rare thing for a Chinese national. To have the chance to shoot them, an unforgettable honor and key life event. They immediatly strike all the cliche poses like Charlies Angels.

PS90 is my new home defense carbine.
I have a new Five Seven as well, and it's a hoot to shoot. With good ammo, I wouldn't hesitate to carry it as a defensive weapon (and have already).

I'll get the Five seveN and start saving for the PS90.
Any brand ammo you recommend?

For plinking and practice, regular FN-branded SS197 is fine. For defensive applications, check out Elite Ammunition ( http://www.eliteammunition.net/home.html). They have several loads available, look them over and pick the one that best suits your needs.
There are those who claim that the 5.7X28 is no more powerful than a .22WMR, which is complete BS. It's a very effective round (look at Ft. Hood), but it LOOKS like it would overpenetrate (it doesn't) so people started that rumor. Even the comparatively tame SS197 is still a pretty harsh round.
Also, I hate you. I paid $1,200 for my Five Seven
