Default F.U. Best Buy

If you've got a Best Buy horror story, lets hear it.


Few years back I bought a computer from Best Buy. It's was defective, locked up in a week. I go back and get another one. It locks up in a week. I take it back the next day to just get my money back, since apparently it's a crappy model and they say that I'll have to pay a 20% restocking fee since the 14 day return policy has expired by a day. I explain that they can't just keep selling me defective computers till they get past the return policy date. Sorry, but the clock doesn't start until you sell me one that works. They tell me to screw off. I'm forced to sue them and or course I win and oddly enough they returned my damn money. F.U. Best Buy

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, I'm looking for a new t.v. and since my jets have cooled I take a gander through Best Buy. Wary, I grill the saleman about the return policy, he says 30 days no questions, no problems. So against my better judgement, I buy a t.v. at Best Buy. Well, a couple weeks goe by and I don't like the color so I go to return it today. Get to the counter and the girl says she'll have to have Best Buy send me a check in 5-7 business days since I paid cash. huh? I ask for the manager and he confirms it; it's store policy he says. He says they don't even have $500 bucks on hand anyways. Whose fault is that? Maybe you should be ready for business today Best Buy. So you're Best Buy and you don't have 5 bills? I'm calling B.S. on that one. Anyways, so I have to leave the store....no money...no t.v....at least I have their word that they'll send me a check. So no t.v. unless I shell a second 5 bills for another one somewhere else.

As a last dig, I ask the manager if he'd let me purchase and walk out with a new computer if I promised to send him a check in 5-7 business days for it and oddly enough, their store policy apparently doesn't work both ways. No computer for you!

F.U. Best Buy! That's the last time you'll get me.

Try hh greg, or if you have a local mom and pop give them a chance. I'm sort of in that business and I can tell you that there is no longer much of a mark-up in tv's. So the Mom and Pop stores will be close to the same price, but most of the time you won't be dealing with a 23 year old manager who's dumber than the person he's texting to while you are screaming at him.

That is hilarious because that is a very accurate description of what happened and who I was dealing with today. unreal.

I am not too offended by the 5-7 day thing actually....

but this is what I did....
I went in to buy something...
and I asked the salesman...
"What added value is there for me to buy something here as opposed to amazon.com?"

and he said..... "We have a really cool extended warrenty you can buy!"

What? Big Deal! I wouldn't be s'prised if Amazon.com didn't offer the same thing....

So I asked him... "If what I buy breaks, do I bring it here and you take care of it if it is still under the 1 year manufacturer's warrenty?"

He said...... " no.. you gotta go thru the manufacturer yourself"

Exactly why should anybody ever buy anything from Best Buy ever again?
They offer no service that I wouldn't get from an online source and prolly higher prices!!!

Lots of people have problems with them. If you don't buy their insurance u are hosed. How can they stay in business? When there is only 1 whore in town thats the one you F!

I don't even want to talk about their Geek Squad. That is a total joke.

I walked through the computer section there about 2 weeks ago for almost 2 hours (I know because my g/f was getting a phone activated). I had 4 employees politely ask me to step aside while they put away stock.

Not one asked me if there was anything they could do for me. I had $700 in my pocket to spend on a computer! There was one other customer there that got helped. He spoke Spanish. . .

True story! And I ended up with a Dell, direct from them.

only thing that sux worse than worst buy is dell support, pray you never need to call them.
