Default 30% Gold Wing RC Edge

Hey Guys,

Just got myself a Gold Wing Edge 540T 50cc. Just wondering if my setup is okay or should i change anything. If i'm being stupid, by all means bash me.

Gold Wing RC Edge 540 T
Mine is the GW314D

Engine : DLE55 with Smoke Muffler
Stock Tanks - Dual 550cc
Rudder Servo - MKS HV767HV
Aileron Servo - Towerpro MG966R
Elevator Servo - MG966R
Throttle Servo - Hitec MG625

Slimline Showtime Smoke Pump with built in Batts

Dual 2300mah A123 for RX and Servo power.
Eneloop 2000mah NiMh for Ignition Power.

I'm just concerned about my servo choices. Had to use a Secraft 45mm stand off with a 10mm extension.

This is my second 50cc. My first came down due to **** power setup. I've been flying 120 & 27% Mainly nowadays.

please advise...

I'd like some pics too. I was looking on Tower for your servos, and I didn't see them. I have been paying attention to the new servos coming out for my own projects and these look pretty good.

54.99 each, plenty of power and speed on your 6.6v packs. They also offer a quantity discount as well. I like those, have a 5665 on throttle now running unregulated and they kick butt. I try not to skimp on servos - I think they are somewhat important to the performance of the plane. Now, where were those pics??

Ditch the dual a123 batteries, to much weight.

If you want redundancy, go with two 1100 A123`s into your RX. Then use one of your 2300`s for your ignition with a small reg to keep it below 6 volts if the manufacturer of your engine recommends it.

Two 2300`s for a 50cc ship is over kill and heavy.

I am running two 1100A123`s into a Spektrum AR9100 Power Safe RX.

The difference in weight between the twin 1100`s and the single 2300 I was running before is negligible.

I went with the AR9100 because it was not much more than a R921 and a extra remote RX, and it will handle a 100cc ship in the future.

I was using before a single 2300 into a HD switch with dual feeds into the RX for redundancy and shared current load. It worked great. Think of that set up since you already bought the batts. Use the other one for ignition.I just went to 2.4 from 72mhz, and had to get a new RX, so the Power Safe RX fit the bill.

Ditch the Towerpro servos and go with Power HD if you are on a budget. 1501's (budget, but great analog) or 9015's (digital).

Looks all right.

A couple little things I would do is put some washers on the heads of your hex bolts just in case the ball links pop off. Ditch the heavy steel nuts for spacers unless you need the nose weight. Try to find or make some out of aluminum.
Put a loop in your smoke tank vent like you have in the fuel tank to stop it from siphoning out.
