I've got 5 Hitec 5945's left over and am thinkin I might put them in a 25% plane.
Can I run them on HV?

Re: Hitec 5945
I wouldn't. The 5945 and 5925, essentially the same servo with a slightly different gearing, were the first of the Hitec digitals. Some of the earlier releases experienced some rather odd issues, which generated a pretty large stir and a few trashed planes at the time. I don't know how well they would stand up to anything over what an A-123 would throw at them.

Can you program them where you want them? Ive never used a BEC from CC but I know you can program most of their stuff such as ESC's and the like. I had wondered if they were even capable of 7.4v output.
Too bad those servos are not, not from what research I did anyway.

Re: Hitec 5945
The CC BEC Pro looks like it's programmable for up to 12.5V output, but I'll have to live with 6v for now on the 5945's since thats all they can handle. It's either that or sell them all and get some more Savox HV's. I switched out my hitecs and one jr8711 and put in those 1268 savox's on straight 2S lipo in my 30%plane and man are they fast. I've never seen anything like it before. It's kind of addicting. I want more.

Re: Hitec 5945
The 5945 is a good servo. Not a great servo, but a good one. Programmable, and can handle the direct output of an A-123. That is not high voltage. I ran them for quite some time on A-123's. The constant voltage of an A-123 isn't any higher than that of a 6v nimh after coming off a charger, and not much over a nimh after falling off the hot part of a charge cycle.
Just for laughs, I've seen people buy and install HV servos and power them with A-123's direct and be under the impression they were then running a "high voltage" set up. Not even close to true. The H.V. threshold is reached when running a 2s lipo, or 7.4v constant.
