Default What size reciever packs?

What size reciever packs are you running on your 40% planes.
Ron told me he is running 5200's on his. His opinion is good enough for me, but I'm curious as to what everone else is using.

The owners manual recomends 3000 mah and I had two 2300 mah packs which were toast after one flight. I'm trying to figure out if there's something wrong with my setup or if the battery packs are just too small.

you need to fiqure out what your servos pull but i would go with ron's suggestion as i even run that setup in my 33% cap. two 5200's into a wolverine switch then to two regs

What do you get with that setup- like 20 flights? I suppose weight ain't as much of an issue at 1000' MSL.

I've got a pair of 2300 mAh A123's for the receiver on my 42% AeroWorks Extra 260. It has a 1200mAh A123 for the ignition. It's looking like they're good for five flights before I'd have to recharge. I fly three flights then let them charge while I'm eating lunch. It only takes about 20 minutes to field charge them.

This battery setup ends up a couple ounces lighter than the pair of 5200 mAh Li-ions I was running. And a regulator isn't necessary. And the A123's can deliver that voltage when the amp load goes up.

My receiver is mounted on a Smart-Fly PowerExpander Eq10. I'm told the JR 8711 servos run fine on the unregulated A123 voltage.

I am still running 3 5600mah 4 cell LiIons on everything, I can go 2 days on the receiver packs and a month on the ignition pack without charging and that is flying off and on all day each day. They weigh less then the lipos and A123's even with regulators all up so I am sticking with my setups, and when I do charge the cube will have my packs back at full in under and hour for the receiver packs and about 20min on the ignition one.

That doesn't seem possible. I think each of those three batteries weighs about 8 ounces. Then throw the regulators in you're probably round 1 3/4 pounds.

The 2300 A123's are around six ounces and the 1200 is around 4 ounces. I only have about a pound of batteries and no regulators.

Each is about the size of a AA battery half the size of the A123 and half the weight, you guys should always make sure your LiIons are the ones that say LG Chem on the side they are the furthest ahead in technology and size. 1 4 cell pack and a Max product's 6v reg weighs under 16Oz all together, with the 5v smart-fly ignition regulator it is even less for that end. I have weighed the A123 pack and compared 2 of the a123 to 2 LG Chem 5600mah packs with a non turbo regulator from Smart-fly and was 4oz less all up with the wires, and I don't have to charge after 4 flights, with my setup I have never had a brown out and never will unless I go over my 2 days of flying without charging and don't check my system with my 8ball off and on.
The company I get my batteries from supply's nearly everyone and when I was talking to the technician he even told me about all the different technology and its pluses and downfalls. When I tried to explain it to you guys before you guys did not understand what was being said so I dropped it. I am not in here to get in a battery fight, it is the same as motors, airframe manufactures and automobiles, the old Dodge, Ford and Chevy thing. We each have our setups, that is mine, you have yours, it is all good and whatever we fly in our planes means one thing, we are flying our planes and having fun, no arguments or oneupsmanships just doing what we love.
