The airplane is covered with ultracote. I am personally a Monokote man! Anyway, I have seen Andy Kanes 50% Clipped Cub and it had wrinkles in the lower part of the rear fuslage. When asked about it he said the covering is shrunk all the way and it will not shrink anymore. When I built my second Cub (kit produced) I noticed that when I was shrinking the covering, it was still 'pulling' on the overlaped places and making it difficult to keep tight. The issue is that this covering is pulling apart at the seems when shrinking. My fix for this was to iron on an 'overlapping' joint. This is/was a pain in the butt but it has rewareded me with a wrinkle free finish. All in all, I had to put about 3 overlapping covering on the fuse and a few on the end of each aileron and wing tip. Total job took about 2 hours. I ued 1/2" stripes over the joints. This is only a recomendation.....

Your parts should arrive on Friday. Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks for the answer Bill. I will look it over tomorrow to see what I need to do. There is a new hobby shop near me that only has ultracote.
Went flying today and practiced one wheel rolls down the runway with my
1/4 sized Cub.

Attachment 6822
Glued in the lower door, I also made it removable

Attachment 6823
Ready to flip and run, also hooked up the choke wire and made the air exit a little larger. All the work I did fitting the cowl was worth it, I got it back on with no drama

Attachment 6824

Working on the struts, I am going to have some pix or I will be lost

Back at it again, I thought I had the incorrect struts, however it turned out to be my problem.
I have assembled the struts on one wing. It looks good to me, the next thing is the final assembly, and the correct hardware.
