Conglomoration Construction??
OK, here's the deal...
I have been wanting to build something for a while now, and I have some parts laying around the house.
It's the wings from a 150cc Yak 54, and the elevators from a 33% Sukhoi, to start. I'm thinking I could use them on a slab, kind of like WrongWay's 85cc profile.
What I don't know is the basics of airplane design. Can those 2 things be used together? Is there a basic formula for planes with wing length/area relative to the elevators? I think it would be something fun to do, I just don't know if it would fly like a turd or not. Considering the fuse is so big on that 42% yak I'd think the wings would end up being close to the same size on a comparably sized profile.
Any input is greatly appreciated.

Re: Conglomoration Construction??
Well, I was going to contact Richard and ask if he would sell me a fuse kit for the 85cc plane, I don't know if he will or not, or if that is an option. I'm sure I could at least buy the plans. Maybe???
Hey Reeeeeechard??

Re: Conglomoration Construction??
There is no fuse kit for the 85cc . All there are is a set of plans and wing ribs .

Aah, well I wouldn't mind plans as a starting point. It can't be too hard to build from plans, I make them now and build stuff out of steel. Cut, sand glue - right?

Re: Conglomoration Construction??
The hardest part of doing that is finding the wing location for the correct CG but it would be fun.

Re: Conglomoration Construction??
How would you figure wing placement? The plane would still need to GC on or around the tube I suppose?

Frankenslabs rule! Get yourself a sheet of pinkfoam and draw yourself out a fuse. Strategically cut out some lightening holes. Smear a crapload of whatever your favorite flavor glue and sheet it up! I scratched out my own tail and made the flappy bits bigger. You might have to move the wings front or back depending on how it flies but it's a beater...and it's easy!
