As for the project.... it is a 40% scale wooden plug of Skip Stewarts
new "P3 Revolution" biplane that he's working on .....

preliminary CAD drawings of the new airplane designed for me by Eddie Saurenman. All carbon fiber, no flying wires, no tubes. ~Skip Stewart

John van Gastel ----- Hi Guys, The kit will be made in Europe Weimo Composites. As you can see we started to mill the plugs. Hopefully in a few weeks we can demould de first products. We will send the first products to skip and I will test the first products in ...the Netherlands. Hopefully everything will be oke so we can start to produce for customers. Good News! The Snot Faucet shut off about 10am this morning,
and the meds started working today finally.......
and I was able to get out to the shop....

I see clean parts!

It's Diesel fuel in the tub..... pistons sat in there over a couple days
while I was suffering my cold, and then a nice light duty scouring pad cleaned'em right up.... almost no effort yesterday.

I get to Diesel-douche the engine block out today... LOL
rinse all traces of the fine metalic material out of the oil gallies
that the initial block cleaning might have left behind.....
and it's not much, at that...

Tomorrow, I'm hoping to clean the cosmoline/grease coating off
the new crank and start assembling the lower end... woohoooo!!!!

Of course, the news will butter it all up, and make it sound like it is all peaches and cream. That isn't the case at all here.

Most of our support jobs will go the FL. There is 1 customer service/Field tech guy that will relocate, the other 4 in our building will not. As far as my position in testing, I'm actually considered "production". So, I may be offered a position in FL, or I may not. Either way I would be eligible to go back to my previous job in Maint. (the very same position that I left for my current position). I highly doubt that they will offer any of our assemblers a position in FL. I heard rumored that out of the 50 or so TEMPORARY filled positions within the Hobart name in the Troy/Piqua, OH area can be filled, by those of us in GP. End result would be, possible pay cuts to those folks who take those positions filled by temporary employees. Me, personally, will not unemployed.

The mood around the shop is very morgue like............. Everyone has a case of the ass. I can't say that I blame them. I too, have a case of the red ass. If they knew that they were going to be relocating this business, why in the hell would they allowed me to go thru with the transfer request??? Just keep pounding the nails in the coffin, I guess..........
